Blurry Face greeted Blank Face with a blurry stare. Blank Face greeted Blurry Face with a blank nothing. Both noticed the absence of the other, though neither knew what it meant, nor how to react; Everything was blurry, everything was blank.
The street they wandered was fine. Blank Face turned to Blurry Face and neither knew what the other meant. They used to play pretend, now they couldn’t be real.
‘Are you my friend?
‘Accept.’
‘How are you?’
‘I’m fine,’ Blurry Face’s expression was blank. ‘How are you?’
‘I’m fine.’ Blank Face’s expression was blurry. The friends walked on.
Blurry Face poked Blank Face in front of a mailbox that looked like a logo they both knew. Blank Face – stopped – poked Blurry Face back. Neither knew what the other meant. The street they walked was fine. Everything was blank.
Blurry Face brought his hand to his face, but nothing was there. Blank Face pressed his palm, but nothing happened. They saw each other’s raised eyebrow, though neither knew what the other meant.
A Man approached the Face’s from out of nowhere, ‘Are you my friend?’
The Face’s looked at each other, though neither knew what the other thought.
‘Decline.’
They walked on. The Man turned towards the road and fell in front of a passing car. It didn’t stop. Neither did the Face’s. Everything was blurry.
Their road was coming to an end. That was fine. Blurry Face turned to Blank Face,
‘My name’s Blurry Face, and I care what you think.’
‘Like.’
From across the street, a lady with a blurry face turned to the Face’s,
‘My name’s Blurry Face, and I care what you think.’
‘Like.’
‘Like.’
The Face’s walked towards the road and threw themselves in front of the next oncoming vehicle. It didn’t stop, though nobody knew what it meant.
